Three labels, one common indication

The prescribing information for Wegovy (semaglutide), Zepbound (tirzepatide) and Saxenda (liraglutide) each includes an indication to reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction long term.

Each label pairs the medicine with a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity. The medicine is not described as a replacement for them.

Who each label covers

Zepbound's label covers adults with obesity or adults with overweight. Saxenda's label covers adults and children aged 12 and older with obesity.

Wegovy's label lists its patient groups beneath the indication. Read the current label for the full wording, because indications can change.

Why read the label itself

Labels are updated over time and also list warnings, contraindications and side effects. The links below go to the label copies we checked. A newer version may exist, so check the FDA site for the current one.
